The General Coordinator for Provincial Affairs, Ahmed Al-Fatlawi, confirmed today, Wednesday, that the population census enumeration and numbering process exceeded 98% throughout Iraq, while indicating that the census will be conducted on its scheduled date on November 20.
Al-Fatlawi said during a press conference for the heads of provincial councils in Karbala attended by the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "There is a focus on the developmental goals of the population census, which is a basic entry point for setting future plans for general performance in the state, which can achieve services commensurate with the steady increase in the population in each of the Iraqi provinces, which has taken upon itself full cooperation with the Ministry of Planning to make this task a success."
He added, "According to the latest statistics provided by the Ministry of Planning, the census and numbering process is ongoing and the completion rates have reached high levels exceeding 98% for all of Iraq, including the governorates of the Kurdistan Region, and the census will be conducted on its scheduled date," indicating that "this census came in implementation of the Federal Court's decision of 2010, and it is not a population census."
