Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani chaired a meeting today, Thursday, to follow up on the implementation of agreements and memoranda of understanding with the Turkish side.
The Prime Minister's Media Office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani chaired the meeting of the committee concerned with following up on the implementation of agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between Iraq and Turkey in various fields."
The statement added that "al-Sudani was briefed during the meeting on the progress of implementing the memoranda of understanding signed during the Turkish President's visit to Baghdad last April."
It pointed out that "al-Sudani followed up on the procedures for the planned projects in the field of water resources infrastructure, by the strategic framework agreement signed between the two countries, which aims to develop understanding and cooperation in the water sector, based on the principle of equality and good neighborliness."
The statement continued, "The meeting discussed the progress of implementing the Strategic Development Road project, within the framework of the quadripartite memorandum of understanding with Turkey, Qatar and the Emirates, following up on the main projects included in the project, the obstacles facing implementation and the parties concerned with addressing them, and working hard to ensure completion, within the specified time frames, and achieving integration and constructive partnerships, which contributes to strengthening the economy and development."
