Cultural Committee: We Observe the Advancement in the Iraqi Media Network’s Performance

    The Culture, Tourism, Antiquities, and Media Committee affirmed on Tuesday its recognition of the stability and success currently evident within the Iraqi Media Network-IMN.
     
    Kareem Hamadi, the head of the Iraqi Media Network, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that “the visit of the Culture, Tourism, Antiquities, and Media Committee aims to evaluate IMN operations and the recent developments, while also identifying the specific requirements for the amendments to be incorporated into IMN law.”
     
    Hamadi further stated that “the committee was provided with a comprehensive overview of the network’s functions and the strategic plans it intends to pursue.”
     
    In her remarks, Deputy Chair of the Committee, MP Samiya Al-Ghalab, emphasized to the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that “the Culture Committee consistently reaffirms the independence of the Iraqi Media Network. During our engagement with the network’s president, we observed a remarkable sense of calm and qualitative stability, indicative of the progress being made within IMN, as well as the harmonious collaboration among all personnel under the wise leadership of the Board of Trustees and the Head of IMN.”
     
    She continued, “A range of significant topics was deliberated, notably the Iraqi Media Network Law, the state of drama production, and other pertinent issues.”
     
    Committee member MP Aref Al-Hamami also commented to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “We have witnessed notable success and stability within the Media Network, and our mandate is to reinforce and enhance this stability. We engaged in discussions concerning the network’s proposals related to the Iraqi Media Network Law.”
     
    Additionally, MP Nahla Al-Afandi remarked to the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that “we explored the mechanisms for coordination between the committee and the Media Network, particularly regarding unresolved matters and the legislation currently before the Parliament that pertains to the IMN work, including the Access to Information Law.”
     She indicated that “an agreement was reached to convene a comprehensive seminar to discuss the latest developments concerning this law.”
     
    She elaborated that “the coordination and collaboration strengthened following the appointment of the new head of IMN, based on principles of consensus and constitutional rights,” underscoring that “there is a significant advancement in work of the Iraqi Media Network.”.”
