The Joint Operations Command announced, today, Saturday, the bombing of a tunnel containing ISIS gang members with F16 aircraft west of Nineveh Governorate.
A statement by the command received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) said: "In continuation of the offensive approach and pursuit of the remaining failed ISIS terrorist elements, a force from the 43rd Brigade in the 20th Division conducted a search operation within the sector of the West Nineveh Operations Command, and detected a tunnel inside which were a number of ISIS terrorist gang elements.
These defeated elements opened fire on the force, which immediately responded to the sources of fire. The area was surrounded by units of the brigade above and a force from the 44th Brigade of the Popular Mobilization Forces. In coordination and technical follow-up by the targeting cell in the Joint Operations Command, two successful air strikes were carried out by the heroic Air Falcons using F16 aircraft.".
The Security Media Cell announced earlier today, Saturday, the encirclement of a tunnel inside which were ISIS terrorist elements west of Nineveh.
