Iraq's delegate to the United Nations, Abbas Kazem Obaid, warned today, Wednesday, against dragging the region into an all-out war.

Obeid said in a speech at the UN Security Council session, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Council must issue immediate and binding decisions to cease fire," noting that "the Security Council's failure to intervene opens the door for the entity to continue its violations."

He warned against "dragging the region into a comprehensive war," noting that "the failure to deter the crimes of the Zionist entity drags the region into large-scale conflicts" explaining that "the war has entered a new phase that threatens more killing and displacement."

He pointied out that "the international community has a moral and humanitarian responsibility to stop the occupation's massacre in Palestine and Lebanon," noting that "the transfer of the war to Lebanon and the possibility of its expansion constitutes a serious threat to the region."

"The crimes of the Zionist occupation in the region and the assassination of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah constitute a major threat." Obeid said.
