The South Gas Company revealed, today, Wednesday, that the percentage of completion in the engineering designs for the first phase of gas investment in the Artawi field has reached (99%) within the Total project.
Artawi Gas Complex Department Director Aqeel Ali Hussein said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The South Gas Company has contracted with the international company KBR to conduct the engineering designs for the first phase of the integrated gas development project in Artawi, and there is significant progress in preparing the designs, exceeding (99.7%), as the first phase includes investing 300 million standard cubic feet of gas, and the project in its two phases invests 600 million standard cubic feet of gas.".
Hussein added, "The department's tasks lie in following up on the reports sent by the contractor Total and KBR, the progress of the work, and making observations on what pertains to the engineering designs."
He explained, "After the designs are finally completed, we will move to the engineering details stage, represented by the contracts stage, which includes more than one contract, including a contract to equip the pipes (pipeline) and another to equip the kerosene tropin generator, in addition to a contract to equip gas compressors and other contracts within the engineering designs for the project, which are submitted by Total to the South Gas Company to make observations on them," noting that early work on the project will begin at the end of this year 2024.
