    Political advisors and researchers confirmed that the participation of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani in the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly comes at a sensitive time regionally and internationally, as Iraq is presented as a rising pivotal power.
     
    The visit discusses important files related to strengthening strategic relations, and also sheds light on Iraq's vision towards enhancing investment in various sectors, and building international partnerships that contribute to advancing the wheel of development and regional stability.
     
    Emphasizing Iraq's pivotal role
     
    The Prime Minister's advisor, Fadi al-Shammari, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "In light of the accelerating regional and international challenges, the Prime Minister's speech at the United Nations General Assembly comes to emphasize Iraq's pivotal role as an emerging active force in the region and a balanced voice in the international arena."
    He added, "This important visit to New York carries multiple messages about Iraq's vision for a better future based on stability, development and international cooperation," noting that "Iraq will discuss a number of pivotal files related to the frameworks of the strategic relationship and strengthening it between Baghdad and Washington, ending the mission of the international coalition, as well as the "UNAMI" file and completing the procedures for ending its work in Iraq, in addition to meeting with world and regional leaders and other international files that will be present on the negotiation and understanding table."
     
    Iraqi rejection of Zionist attacks
     
    Al-Shammari added, "The Iraqi government believes that stability in the Middle East can only be achieved through respecting the sovereignty of states and adhering to international law, and calls on the international community to take a firm stance against the occupying entity."
     
    He added, "The Prime Minister will emphasize the importance of investing in Iraq, and the great opportunities available in various sectors such as energy, technology, water, agriculture, and infrastructure," indicating that "this visit constitutes an important opportunity to attract foreign investments, as the focus is on presenting Iraq as a promising environment for investment with its enormous natural and human resources, and government reforms aimed at facilitating procedures and enhancing transparency."
     
    He continued, "The government adopts a policy of 'networking' economic and political interests between countries, which contributes to establishing strong international relations and establishing a brighter future for the peoples of the region, in addition to the development road project, which is a practical embodiment of the government's orientations and one of the strategic projects to strengthen ties between countries, which aims to build economic partnerships based on common interests, which contributes to achieving stability and prosperity for the peoples of the countries of the region."
     
    Al-Shammari confirmed to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Iraq is one of the countries most affected by climate change, and therefore participating in this international discussion is a necessary step towards achieving the goals of sustainable development," expressing his "hope that these meetings will contribute to strengthening international partnerships and attracting the necessary support to confront the environmental challenges facing the country."
     
    He added, "The Prime Minister will review the efforts made by the government to confront the phenomenon of drugs that threaten societies, and despite the major challenges facing Iraq, including smuggling and illegal trafficking across borders, Iraq is committed to cooperating with its regional and international partners to enhance security control, and develop rehabilitation and community awareness programs to reduce the spread of drugs."
     
    He pointed out that "the Prime Minister's visit to New York constitutes an important station to enhance Iraq's presence in international forums, and to emphasize its commitment to enhancing regional security and stability and achieving sustainable economic development."
     
    Discussing economic and investment files
     
    For her part, MP Ruqayya Al-Nouri told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the Prime Minister always presents files that serve the interests of the country in all fields, and his current visit to New York and participation in the work of the United Nations General Assembly in its 79th session for the year 2024 will contribute to raising important issues with heads of state and presidents and matters related to enhancing cooperation, facing challenges and affirming commitments."
     
    She pointed out that "the Prime Minister will hold various meetings with many officials from different countries during the visit, and there will be a discussion of economic and investment files."
     
    She added, "Iraq has become an important player in participation and in all important international forums, especially since the Prime Minister, during his meetings in New York, will extend invitations to some presidents to visit the capital, Baghdad, with the aim of concluding various agreements. He will also receive invitations to visit various countries, and this will enhance foreign relations and confirm Iraq's pivotal role in the world."
     
    Iraq is an active party in the international community
     
    In a related context, MP Talib Al-Yasari told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "This visit is an opportunity to showcase the government's activity and its political and diplomatic action and the success it has led to on the economic level," indicating that "Iraq needs the confidence of international parties in the government's procedures and this will be an opportunity to showcase the results, works and successes achieved."
     
    While researcher and diplomat in political affairs Saadoun Al-Saadi added to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "The meetings of the United Nations General Assembly represent a great opportunity for senior figures from 193 countries to meet, and each country reserves the right to speak without restriction or condition. From this standpoint, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani will deliver Iraq's speech, which is a summit that the United Nations has been accustomed to for years to discuss the challenges facing the world."
     
    He added, "This is a historic opportunity for the Iraqi government, represented by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, to clarify Iraq's future vision as well as the size of the challenges, as Iraq is an active party in the international community, as well as to demonstrate the importance of Baghdad as an important diplomatic center."
     
    He pointed out that "Iraq was the reason for the return of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran, in addition to the rapprochement of relations between Egypt and Turkey," noting that "Baghdad has become a center for discussing regional issues, and thus this is a major turning point."
     
    Productive Diplomacy
     
    Meanwhile, political analyst Hamza Mustafa told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani's visit to New York to participate in the United Nations General Assembly meetings is important for several reasons, including the annual global gathering represented by leaders, heads of state and ministries, in addition to world leaders and international organizations, and thus raising many global and regional issues."
     
    He added that "the timing of the visit came in light of the current conditions in the region that require a firm international stance towards them, in addition to the importance of Iraq's participation in the Future Summit, which deals with fundamental issues that humanity suffers from, such as climate and various transformations."
     
    He continued, "Based on the Prime Minister's vision (productive diplomacy), Iraq's important role in this participation comes, as it is an important and effective country in the region and the world, and it has its vision and perceptions about all these files related to the region and the world."
