The Iraqi diver Muhammed Al-Muayyad achieved a new historical achievement for Iraq, recorded for the first time in the field of technical diving.

Al-Muayyad raised the Iraqi flag and the "Peace be upon you, O Messenger of God" flag at a depth of 103.5 meters in the most famous diving site in the world, the bottom of the Blue Hole, the city of Dahab, Arab Republic of Egypt.

This achievement timed with "the anniversary of the birth of the Great Messenger (PBUH), as Al-Muayyad succeeded in carrying out this dive after intensive training, through which he earned the highest certificate in technical diving from the PADI org."

This certificate is the first of its kind obtained by an Iraqi diver, which qualifies him "to carry out complex technical dives using special gas mixtures and thoroughly studied plans."

This dive is considered to be very challenging, as the diver faces at a depth of 100 meters an atmospheric pressure of up to 11 bars, equivalent to 11 times the pressure at sea level, which requires a zero-error rate to ensure the diver's safety.

Al-Moayyad also succeeded in "completing the dive with focus, awareness and high skill, as the entire dive took 125 minutes, including 11 minutes at the bottom of the Blue Hole. This achievement is the first of its kind for an Iraqi to reach this depth and comes as "an honorable step to raise the name of Iraq in the field of technical diving, and a call for unity among Muslims on the anniversary of the birth of the Prophet Muhammed (PBUH)".
