The Iraqi Defense Industries Commission - DIC announced on Monday the delivery of several types of drones to the security apparatus.
"DIC has begun producing types of drones due to their great importance, after its success in producing some types of reconnaissance drones," said the head of DIC, Mustafa Ati Hassan, to the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
He indicated that "DIC delivered some of the drones to the security apparatus," adding, "The Commission is working jointly with the Ministry of Interior to localize a new type of these drones and localize this important technology.
"A few days ago, there was a joint experiment with the border forces to supply the Ministry of Interior with a significant number of reconnaissance drones," he indicated.
In turn, the Senior Chief Engineer at the State Company for Military Industries, Hameed Abd Hilal, told INA, "We have the 'Guardian' project to produce reconnaissance drones. Its goal is civil-military and not just military," noting that "the staff in the company are advanced in engineering and technical."
"We started working on the 'Falcon 1' project, then 'Falcon 2', and then the 'Guardian' project. We have other studies as well. Our preparation depends on what each government department requests based on what it needs," he included in his statement.
