The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasoul, Special Forces, revealed today, Friday, the results of the Lions operation in the desert of Anbar Governorate, while confirming that the operation confused the terrorist gangs.
Major General Rasoul told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The results of the Lions operation in the desert of Anbar Governorate against the terrorist gangs were great, and leaders considered to be from the first rank of ISIS were killed, which is a message from the Iraqi armed forces that it is possible to reach the terrorist gangs wherever they are."
He added, "This operation was planned for some time, based on accurate intelligence information and with follow-up by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, through the Iraqi National Intelligence Service, the Air Force (Army Aviation), the Special Forces, and the Counter-Terrorism Service."
He pointed out that "the operation achieved great results, and the results of the strike will be after completing the DNA analysis ," noting that "the strike confused the terrorist gangs, and is a message to terrorism that it is being pursued wherever it is, and the strikes will be successive and continuous."
He explained that "the high planning, coordination and supervision by the Joint Operations Command had a major impact in coordinating the work and directing strikes against terrorist gangs," explaining that "the intelligence effort is present and this is another effort added to the preemptive and qualitative operations carried out by our security sectors."
