Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani welcomed the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, and this morning at Baghdad International Airport, marking President Pezeshkian's first official international visit since assuming office in July an official reception ceremony was held, featuring the national anthems of both countries and inspecting the guard of honor representing various branches of Iraq's armed forces.
The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that ,”Prime Minister Al-Sudani will hold expanded discussions with President Pezeshkian, who is accompanied by a large delegation of Iranian government minister the talks will focus on regional developments, particularly the situation in Gaza, as well as on strengthening economic, security, and trade cooperation, along with partnerships in several developmental sectors.”
The statement added, “Additionally, both sides will oversee the signing of a series of memorandums of understanding (MoUs) on tax cooperation, agriculture, natural resources, telecommunications, social protection, youth and sports, education, tourism, cultural and artistic exchanges, archaeological cooperation, vocational training, skilled workforce development, and collaboration between chambers of commerce.”
