The Iraqi national team coach, Jesus Casas, confirmed, on Monday, that all matches are important to qualify for the World Cup.
"All the matches we play in the second stage qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, including tomorrow's match against Kuwait, are important for qualification," said Casas in the press conference for the match between Iraqi national team and the Kuwaiti counterpart tomorrow in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup - followed by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
Casas explained, "After our previous match with the Omani national team, we had a few days to prepare for tomorrow's match against Kuwait. Working to avoid the mistakes made by the national team players, we will continue in the same manner in previous matches."
"The Kuwaiti national team is very motivated and prepared to win this match. It presented a great match against Jordan," he pointed out.
Regarding the situation of the player Ayman Hussein, Casas explained that "Ayman is an important player and we must deal with reality. We also have high-level substitutes who have previously succeeded in presenting a great level and scoring goals against opponents."
In turn, national team player Ibrahim Bayesh confirmed during the conference that the "Iraq team is fully prepared to achieve full marks and make the Iraqi people happy," noting that "the match against Kuwait is difficult."
