A drone that had entered the province's airspace was shot down by the air defense, the Kirkuk Police Command confirmed on Thursday.
"An unidentified giant drone entered Kirkuk's airspace from the direction of Jiman's checkpoint," Kirkuk commander Fattah al-Khafaji said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), adding that "it was shot down by the air defense."
He declared, "There were no material or human losses as a result of the incident."
