Interior Ministry: Arrest of 4 suspects accused of smuggling oil derivatives in Baghdad and Basra

The Ministry of Interior announced on Tuesday, the arrest of 4 suspects accused of smuggling oil derivatives in Baghdad and Basra.

A statement by the ministry received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "the detachments of the Fourth Brigade on the Rusafa side arrested (3) suspects and seized their vehicles due to the lack of official papers stating the beneficiary of the loaded oil product."

In the same context, the statement confirmed that "a force from the Ninth Brigade arrested an accused suspected of burning an empty passenger vehicle inside an oil facility in Basra Governorate," indicating that "they were placed in detention and the vehicles were seized to complete the investigations and present the case papers to the competent judge."
