The Directorate General of Intelligence and Security-DGIS announced on Saturday, the capturing of 7 drug traffickers in five provinces.
DGIS stated in a statement, received by The Iraqi News Agency-INA,” Under the direction and supervision of Defense Minister Thabet Al-Abbasi, has continued executing specialized operations through the Directorate General of Intelligence and Security at the Ministry of Defense. These operations led to the arrest of seven drug dealers and traffickers in Baghdad, Babil, Karbala, Najaf, and Al-Muthanna”.
The statement noted that "the suspects have arrest warrants issued against them under Article 28 of the Narcotics Law" and added that "various narcotic substances were seized from them. The suspects have been referred to the appropriate legal authorities for further action."
