The Ministry of Interior announced today, Friday, the arrest of a network that deals in narcotics in Najaf Governorate.
The spokesman for the Interior Ministry and the Security Media Cell, Brigadier General Muqdad Miri, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "As part of a series of security and intelligence operations, the Babylon Drug Affairs Directorate, in coordination with the Najaf Drug Affairs Directorate, was able to arrest a network specializing in drug trafficking consisting of five defendants, in possession of (6) kilograms of the narcotic substance (marijuana) in Najaf Governorate."
The statement added that "the defendants were placed in detention pursuant to a judicial decision in accordance with the provisions of Article (28) of Narcotics to receive their just punishment."
