The leader of the Shiite National Movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, called today, Saturday, for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
A document signed by Mr. Al-Sadr seen by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated: "I call on the Arab and Islamic governments, moderate and peace-loving countries to pressure the members of the Security Council, which will convene in the coming days at the request of Algeria, and to demand that they issue binding and immediate resolutions to stop human rights violations and the killing of innocents in beloved Gaza, and to demand that the Zionist enemy immediately cease fire without conditions, all of which represents the conscience of free nations and peoples."
