Interior Minister arrives on Iraqi-Syrian border

    Abdul Amir al-Shammari, the interior minister, arrived at the border between Iraq and Syria.


    "The Minister of Interior, accompanied by the Undersecretary for Federal Security Affairs and the commander of the border forces, arrived in Al-Waleed district on the Iraqi-Syrian border," reads a ministry statement that the Iraqi News Agency (INA) obtained.

    "The visit aims to open the headquarters of the border command of the second region," he stated emphatically.
