The Ministry of Water Resources announced today, Wednesday, the provision of drinking water in all governorates of the country, noting that it has adopted five priorities for managing raw water entering Iraq.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Water Resources, Khalid Shamal, said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that “Drinking water is completely secure in all governorates of Iraq.”
He added, "The Ministry has adopted five priorities for managing the raw water coming into Iraq. The first is securing drinking water, and the second is using healthy water," stressing that "healthy water is also secured."
Shamal pointed out, “The third priority pursued by the Ministry of Water Resources is the agricultural plan by agreeing with the Ministry of Agriculture on a specific summer or winter agricultural plan.”
"The fourth priority relates to the environment of the marshes, and the fifth is the environment of the Shatt al-Arab," explaining, "All of these priorities are commitments that we are working to achieve to a very large extent."
