The Government Media Team affirmed today that the electronic UR Portal platform has contributed to reducing the phenomenon of corruption and intermediaries.

The Spokesperson Of The Government Media Team, Haider Majid told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "The UR electronic portal for government services has minimized waiting times, bypassed routine bureaucracy as previously practised during citizens' visits to state institutions, where they used to endure long queues and lengthy waits to process their transactions, in addition to being subjected to extortion by certain employees."

Majid added, "The platform has also helped reduce administrative and financial corruption and the exploitation of intermediaries dealing with citizens. Now, it is much simpler for citizens to register on the portal and apply for the available electronic services, which currently amount to 440."

He pointed out that "the Secured Documents System, a project replacing paper-based issuance with electronic via QR codes, has also contributed to reducing exploitation of citizens and corruption, significantly accelerating issuance processes."

Majid noted that "the National Data Center manages a guidance service (toll-free hotline 5599), operational around the clock from 9 AM to 12 midnight, aimed at assisting citizens with service inquiries, overcoming registration obstacles, and reporting cases of employee misconduct or non-cooperation across all state institutions."

He affirmed that "the National Center continues to organize and establish platforms for government services in coordination with state institutions, aligned with government steps, as part of its governmental program."
