Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani today attended the annual celebration of National Career Day, held at the government palace in Baghdad. During the event, 50 distinguished employees from various fields were honored, and selected by specialized committees for their outstanding performance.
The Prime Minister's Media Office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani sponsored, today, Thursday, the annual celebration of the National Job Day, which was held at the government palace in the capital, Baghdad, where 50 distinguished employees in various fields were honored, who specialized committees chose; for their excellence in job performance."
Prime Minister Al-Sudani praised the distinguished employees for their hard work and excellence, emphasizing that this selection showcases Iraqis' strength, principle, confidence, and positive energy. He highlighted that the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Iraq and its people remain the foremost distinguished individuals.
The Prime Minister also commended the initiative to honor outstanding employees and appreciated the efforts of the committee and everyone who contributed to this initiative. This recognition demonstrates the capabilities of public sector employees, countering negative stereotypes, and spotlighting dedicated, efficient, productive, and honest workers. He acknowledged that there are many more exemplary employees performing their duties with great dedication and high efficiency.
Prime Minister Al-Sudani highlighted the inspiring stories of distinguished employees who deserve recognition and bolster trust in government employees. Notably, some individuals have transformed challenging circumstances into success and dedicated themselves to public service. For example, a person with a disability excelled in programming, and a visually impaired student achieved exceptional academic success, both exemplifying creativity and deserving of pride.
The Prime Minister emphasized the central and fundamental role of the public sector in the development and execution of the government's program and priorities. The public sector is crucial for development across all fields, as Iraq experiences the highest growth rate in the region. The government sector must fulfill its duties in this regard. He noted that in less than two years, the government has made significant progress in addressing challenges across various sectors. Iraq possesses vast natural and human resources, some of which remain untapped.
