Iraq's participation in the Mobile World Congress in China was announced by the Communications and Media Commission on Sunday.
"Chairman of the Communications and Media Commission Ali Al-Muayyad represented Iraq at the Mobile World Congress MWC Shanghai 2024, which was held in the Chinese city of Shanghai," read a statement from the Commission that the Iraqi News Agency (INA) obtained.
According to the statement, "leading international companies in the field of communications participated widely in the conference, discussing the latest innovations and technologies in the field of mobile communications, and showcasing their latest products and solutions at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Center."
"Iraq's participation in this important conference comes as an affirmation of its interest in developing the communications and information technology sector," the statement continued. "Iraq wants to improve the infrastructure of the communications sector and offer high-quality services to citizens and companies by taking advantage of the latest technologies and solutions available worldwide."
In order to contribute to the country's sustainable development, it stated that "Iraq aims, through this participation, to enhance international cooperation in the field of communications and exchange expertise and knowledge with other countries."
