INA- BAGHDAD
As per the terms of the agreement reached between the Iraqi News Agency (INA) and Russia Today channel during the Kazan Islamic Forum held last May, INA took part in a training course led by Russia Today channel, which was attended by approximately thirty media figures from seven Arab states.
The majority of the channel's staff members are of Arab and foreign descent, and they were very gracious in welcoming the media delegation. They went above and beyond in providing information, giving detailed explanations of their experiences working for the channel, and generously answering any questions.
The first step involved giving the media delegation a tour of the different sections of the channel so they could learn about the status of the work being done there. They also met with a number of journalists and broadcasters and expressed their admiration for the channel's advanced capabilities as well as the highly professional journalists who work there.
In light of the international sanctions placed on the channel, its staff provided a thorough explanation of their work, emphasizing that "the institution works in a team spirit, through diligent work in finding alternatives, solutions, and innovations to deliver their voice and continue their coverage."
The goal of the development course is to establish cooperative relationships with the Arab world and create a curriculum that includes honing professional skills, learning about their experiences and creative ways to withstand international sanctions, and exchanging media experiences amongst Arab nations.
Along with teaching participants how to create and market textual digital content for the website, the training program includes three workshops covering how to produce news content for social media platforms and television.
