The Governor of Najaf Governorate, Youssef Maki Kanawi, affirmed on Saturday, that expanding the scope of air services between Iraq and Saudi Arabia enhances economic and touristic ties between the two countries. He noted that the flight from Dammam to Najaf represents communication and closeness between the Saudi and Iraqi peoples.
"Kanawi stated during the ceremony held by National Aviation Services (NAS) on the occasion of operating the first flight of Nas Saudi Arabia Airlines from King Fahd International Airport in Dammam to Najaf International Airport, attended by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), 'The door of Najaf Governorate is open to all countries of the world regarding cooperation on all levels that serve the province and its honorable citizens, while preserving the sanctity and great history of holy Najaf.'"
He continued, 'Expanding the scope of air services between the two countries reflects the positive development in bilateral relations and enhances economic and touristic ties between the two sisterly nations,' reiterating 'the importance of human and cultural ties between the people of Saudi Arabia and Iraq.'
