The General Directorate of traffic confirmed, on Friday, that the bridges that entered service in Baghdad have made a significant impact in reduce traffic jams.
"The bridges that have been opened and the accompanying street layout, the installation of cameras and modern light signals have actually made a significant impact in reduce traffic jams" ,said Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Ali al-Hassoun, director of the relations and media department at the General Traffic Directorate to the Iraqi News Agency (INA ).
" There are clear government efforts working to serve the citizen and help to solve traffic jams and facilitate traffic" ,expressing his thanks to the government effort from the ministries working and supporting in order to complete the projects to solve traffic jams as soon as possible”, he added.
Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani confirmed earlier that the government is continuing achieving its promises in the implementation of service projects in Baghdad and the provinces.
PM Al-Sudani During the opening ceremony of al-rustumeia ,al- muhandeseen and al- shalgheia bridges, appreciated the efforts exerted by the technical staff at the Ministry of reconstruction and housing and Baghdad Secretariat, and all supporting parties in the implementation of these vital projects, as part of the first package projects to relieve traffic jams in the capital Baghdad.
PM pointed out that with the opening of these projects, the government will have completed five of the 16 projects in the first package.
