Al-Sudani: Tribes have an important role in supporting the state and local government

    Prime Minister Mohammad Shia Al-Sudani confirmed today, Wednesday that the tribes have an important role in supporting the state and local government.
     
     
    The Prime Minister's Media Office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani received a group of tribal sheikhs and notables from Anbar Governorate, during his visit to the governorate this morning."
    Al-Sudani stressed that “the tribes have an important role in supporting the state and the local government, and that throughout Iraq’s history they have been an expression of belonging to the state and a contribution to its construction, and they sacrificed their best sons for the sake of Iraq and defending its security and sovereignty,” praising “the great stand of the sons of the Anbar tribes and the rest of the provinces during Iraq's war against ISIS terrorist gangs.
    The Prime Minister spoke about the important role of the tribe in supporting the government to implement its plans and programs, stressing “the necessity for the members of the tribes to support the local government in all governorates, in order to improve the service reality and implement projects, stressing the importance of the governor’s position in the executive branch of the government, as he represents the executive arm to the federal government.”
