The Ministry of Health announced, on Monday, that about 5 million children had been vaccinated against measles until yesterday, Sunday.
The official spokesman of the ministry, Saif Al-Bader, said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA ) that "the measles vaccination campaign launched by the Ministry of Health has been going on for 10 days" , noting that "after the sixth day of the campaign, the number of children who received the vaccination reached 4 million and 800 thousand children”.
Al-Bader added that" the campaign continues until next Thursday " , noting that "the ministry aims to vaccinate more than 7 million children of Primary School and kindergarten age”.
He pointed out that "the ministry renews the invitation of the minister of Health, Dr. Salih Mahdi Al-Hasnawi, to all parents and concerned, to interact and deal with the campaign, with the aim of immunizing children from measles infection, stressing that , all vaccines approved by the Ministry of health are safe ,effective and of solid international origins approved by the competent international authorities, the World Health Organization and UNICEF".
