The president of the Republic stresses the importance of completing the necessary preparations for Kurdistan region elections

President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid  , today Sunday , stressed on the importance of completing the necessary preparations for the elections of the Kurdistan region.

A statement issued by the Media Department of the Presidency of the Republic, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received today, Sunday, at al-salam Palace in Baghdad, the President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Nechirvan Barzani ".

"The meeting discussed the general situation in the country and its developments, especially the relationship between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government, where the president of the Republic expressed the importance of reaching an appropriate solution for the salaries of Kurdistan region employees” the statement added.
 
The president of the Republic stressed “the need to invest the important achievement to continue the effective dialogue between the federal government and the regional government to resolve the remaining outstanding issues in accordance with the Constitution and the law, and to adhere to the terms of the political agreement on the basis of which the government was formed in order to reach satisfactory understandings that guarantee the rights of all citizens, including the citizens of the region and avoid any other consequences burdening them, praising the patience and wisdom of the Kurdish citizens and endure difficult and complex conditions directly affecting their living situation".

Rashid stressed " the importance of completing the necessary preparations for the elections of the Kurdistan region with the participation of all political parties in the region to ensure it’s integrity and transparency and to achieve the aspirations of Kurdistan citizens and exercise their democratic right to choose their representatives", praising the role of the president of the region Nechirvan Barzani in finding solutions to the problems and strengthening the relationship between the Federal Government and the Government of the region”.

The president pointed that "It is important to continue the effective dialogue between the federal government and the Kurdistan region as the only path to resolving problems and overcoming challenges, taking into account the interests of all citizens ".

In turn, the President of Kurdistan Region stressed that " reaching a solution to the issue of salaries of the region employees and the ongoing understandings contribute to the consolidation of relations between the Federal Government and the Regional Government, and pushes ahead efforts to resolve other outstanding issues.

Barzani praised " the role and efforts of the President of the Republic in reaching an agreement on the issue of salaries, and his constant endeavor to bring the points of view closer between the political forces", stressing the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination between all political forces to protect security and stability in the country, support the efforts of construction and reconstruction and the implementation of the ministerial program of the federal government in order to achieve social justice”.
