The Rusafa Criminal Court issued on Tuesday, a two-year imprisonment sentence against a counterfeit currency trafficker east of the capital, Baghdad.
A statement by the Supreme Judicial Council, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that “the Rusafa Criminal Court issued a two-year severe imprisonment sentence against a counterfeit currency trafficker east of the capital, Baghdad.”
"The accused was found in possession of a counterfeit amount of currency amounting to (642) twenty-five thousand Iraqi dinar notes,” The statement added.
"The ruling was issued against him in accordance with the provisions of Article 52/1/A of the Central Bank of Iraq Law No. 56 of 2004,” It pointed out .
