Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, the head of the Border Ports Authority, issued orders on Thursday from the border crossing in Rabia.

"The head of the Border Ports Authority, Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, did not exclude any border crossing within a series of visits and sudden field tours that he conducts continuously," the Border Ports Authority said in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA). "He went at dawn today to the Rabia border crossing, located in northwest Nineveh province."

The authority also stated that "to discuss the most important challenges that need to be considered previously addressed with the competent authorities, the head of the authority conducted a field tour of all the facilities of the port accompanied by the working cadres and supporting bodies from the security and service agencies."

"The need to control the gates and tighten control over the border strip, to cut off the way for infiltrators, gunmen, and illegal crossers of the border and to prevent the entry of prohibited materials in all their forms, especially those that affect the health and security of citizens," was highlighted by Al-Waeli during his speech, according to the statement.
