Commerce Minister inaugurates the work of the joint Iraqi-Syrian committee

    The Minister of Commerce, Atheer Daoud Al-Ghurairi, opened on Tuesday, the work of the joint Iraqi-Syrian committee.
     
     
    "The work of the joint Iraqi committee began in the capital, Baghdad, at its twelfth session, which was headed by the Iraqi side, Minister of Commerce Atheer Daoud Al-Ghurairi, and the Syrian Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Muhammad Samer Al-Khalil, on the Syrian side,” The ministry said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
     
    Al-Ghurairi stressed, during the opening of the committee’s work, that “the Iraqi government’s vision is to create balanced relations in the region and with brothers based on sustainable development, integrated economic interests, raising the level of trade exchange, and overcoming the obstacles that stand in its way.”
     
    The statement pointed out that "the Iraqi government is making great efforts to develop economic performance and provide a suitable climate to enhance foreign trade, encourage investment, and create joint industrial and commercial cooperation that contributes to increasing the rates of trade exchange with sister Syria, which serves common interests," calling on "Iraqi-Syrian businessmen and companies to take full advantage from the relations between the two countries and translating them into concrete cooperation projects in various fields."
     
     
    For his part, the Syrian minister expressed "his country's happiness at Iraq's keenness to strengthen and develop relations between the two brotherly countries, which are built on the foundations of integration that serve the interests of the Syrian and Iraqi peoples," stressing that "his country has a desire to develop and diversify intra-trade and raise the level of import and export with Iraq."
