The Minister of Electricity, Ziad Ali Fadhil, confirmed on Monday, the development of promising plans over multiple periods of time to modernize the infrastructure of the electrical system and meet the energy needs of citizens.
Fadhil received a delegation from the Japanese International Cooperation Agency - JICA at the Ministry’s headquarters and reviewed the services provided by the agency in rehabilitating transmission lines in the recaptured areas to provide effective and sustainable services, according to a statement by the Ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
The Minister discussed with the delegation the Japanese Agency's preparations to finance the Ministry of Electricity's projects, reviewing a presentation made by the Agency's delegation to establish development projects in Iraq in the field of clean energy that will be available once the financial loan procedures are completed.
"The minister praised the efforts of the Japanese agency in supporting the Iraqi government's steps to reconstruct the recaptured areas and achieve a comprehensive development renaissance in various sectors," added in the statement, noting that the ministry has developed "promising plans over multiple time periods to modernize the infrastructure of the electrical system in the country and meet the needs of citizens for electricity energy reliably."
