The President of the Republic receives Basra Governor

The President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid said ,on Monday ,that Iraq has an opportunity to be one of the most developed countries in the region.

" The President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received at the Baghdad Palace, the Governor of Basra, Asaad Al-Eidani ", Media Office of the Republic Presidency stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA)..

" At the beginning of the meeting , the president of the Republic handed over, the governor, the republican decree appointing him governor of Basra, and congratulated him on assuming the post o Basra f Governor for a second session, expressing his wishes for success in his work ” the statement explained .

The president of the Republic stressed " the importance of making more efforts to serve the province of Basra and its people, providing services and implementing projects that will improve the reality of the province" stressing that "the people of Basra deserve a lot because they endured exceptional circumstances, as well as the historical status of the city, and possessing great resources and powers”.

Rashid added that " Iraq is rich country in human and Natural Resources, and it has a chance to be one of the most developed countries in the region if those resources are used in the right ways to serve the people" pointing out that " the Republic presidency  is open to provide support the province in embracing cultural and literary festivals such as Al-Mirbad festival and sports and youth Championships".

For his part ,the Governor reviewed "the efforts exerted to improve the security, economic and commercial conditions of the Governorate, in addition to the Governorate's plans to provide safe drinking water, and its efforts to support the private sector, investment and development, to provide job opportunities and eliminate unemployment".
