The Minister of Immigration and Displacement, Ivan Faiq Jabro, today, Thursday, outlined the most important recommendations encouraging the return of the displaced and closing their file completely. While she indicated that there is no justification for the existence of camps for the displaced, she confirmed the ministry’s ability to close them within a month.

Jabro told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The decisions of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, and the recommendations of the Supreme Committee for Displaced Relief, stressed the necessity of closing the displaced file,” stressing by saying: “The displaced file must be completely ended.”

She added, "The Ministry issued several very encouraging recommendations for the return of the displaced, including a grant of 4 million dinars, in addition to generating projects and durable goods amounting to approximately 9 million dinars, which the displaced person receives after he leaves the tent and returns to any area in which he wishes to settle."

The Minister of Immigration pointed out that "the federal government knows well the suffering of the displaced inside the camps that lack all the requirements for a decent life, and therefore there is government support for their settlement in any area in which they wish to live."

She confirmed, "Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani directed the Ministry of Finance to release the financial sums for the demolished homes, exclusively to the returnees inside the camps," adding, "This decision in itself is a major achievement."

She pointed out that "all regions of Iraq are witnessing security stability, so there is no justification for the existence of camps," stressing that "the Ministry has the ability to close the file of the displaced within a month."
