Two drug dealers were given the death penalty by the Central Criminal Court on Thursday for the crime of trafficking in drugs.
The Iraqi News Agency (INA) obtained a statement from the Supreme Judicial Council SJC announcing that the prisoners had been found in possession of a Kalashnikov rifle and one and a half kilograms of drug Amphetamine .
"The sentence was issued based on the provisions of Article 27/ I of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 50 of 2017 and the reference of articles 47, 48 and 49 of the Penal Code," said the statement.
