Iraq is a crucial pillar in the regional and global arena, according to Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani's political adviser Fadi Al-Shammari, who made this statement on Wednesday. He emphasized the significance of all parties supporting Al-Sudani's efforts to stop any potential escalation in the region.

The Iraqi News Agency (INA) was informed by Al-Shammari that "the situation in the region is witnessing complicated developments, and imminent dangers that require serious work and seeking to reduce the level of tension in the area."

With the rapid developments and ongoing changes in the region, as well as the ongoing rise in the security challenges indicator, he continued, "Iraq is a central factor in the regional and international arena and at the political, military, and economic levels. It requires urgent efforts and effective measures to reduce escalation and move towards a permanent calm and stop inciting wars.”

He emphasized the need of supporting all parties for the Al-Sudani's government's efforts to prevent any potential escalation and noted that Prime Minister Mohamed Shia Al-Sudani is trying diligently to lower the threat indicator, contain the dangers of the conflict spreading, and provide all the necessary support from the country's active forces.

"To achieve a state of lasting peace and establish new rules of engagement to avoid the risks of multiple front wars and the consequent security and economic repercussions that cast a shadow on the world, the Iraqi government plays a key role in bringing the views of regional and international parties closer together," Al-Shammari asserted.

In order to achieve a reduction in tension and a shift towards a more stable and secure environment for the entire region, as well as spare the countries involved in wars that could spread to the entire Middle East, he emphasized "the need to call on the international community to provide the necessary support to achieve the objectives of the Iraqi government, strengthen cooperation with the government, provide the necessary diplomatic support and sustain the momentum of negotiations."
