Five Iraqis detained in Libya for illegal immigration were released: Al-Sahaf

    Ahmed Al-Sahaf, the Chargé d'affaires a.i. of the Republic of Iraq's Embassy to the State of Libya, declared on Monday, the release of five Iraqis who had been detained in Libya for illegal.
     
    "The Iraqi embassy in Tripoli succeeded, after high coordination with the Ministry of Interior / Department for Combating Illegal Migration, in the State of Libya to release five Iraqi citizens who were detained for reasons related to illegal immigration," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA). "This is depicted in the security and safety of Iraqi citizens who fall into the traps of smuggling and human trafficking networks."

    "The Iraqi embassy in Tripoli has doubled its efforts in conjunction with its reopening after about a decade," the statement read, "to increase the effectiveness of follow-up and efforts towards the most important files that enhance the presence of Iraqi diplomacy and raise its status at the level of bilateral relations or at the level of providing services and facilitating follow-up with the Iraqi community residing in the State of Libya."
