The final round of matches in Group D of the AFC Asian Cup takes place on Wednesday at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium between the Iraqi national team and Vietnam.
The Golden Star Warriors will play for pride after losing their first two games, while the Iraqi Lions will try to keep their perfect record in the competition.
Iraq beaten Japan 2-1 in their matchup last Friday to make it two wins out of two in the Asian Cup.
This came after on January 15, in their Group D opener, they defeated Indonesia 3-1 thanks to goals from Mohanad Ali, Osama Rashid, and Aymen Hussein.
As they lead the group, three points ahead of second-place Japan and with a strong goal differential (+3), the Mesopotamian Lions have secured their place in the knockout stages.
Vietnam, on the other hand, has had a forgettable campaign; they have lost both of their games thus far and are currently rooted at the bottom of Group D.
