The coach of the Iraqi national football team, Spaniard Jesus Casas, confirmed today, Friday, that the victory over Japan is important and the players deserve it, while stressing the need to continue working to go far in the Asian Cup.
Casas said in a press interview followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The victory over the Japanese national team is important and the players deserve it, and there is great work by the Football Association.”.
He added, "Japan is a great team and the strongest team in Asia," noting, "Our victory today came at the same time as Iraq won the Gulf Cup.".
Casas expressed his thanks to the players for what they did in the match against Japan, pointing out that “work must continue to go far in the Asian Cup.”.
For his part, the captain of our national team, Jalal Hassan, stressed that “our match against Japan was prepared in advance and we were able to stop the candidate for the Asian Cup.
Player Amir Al-Ammari pointed out: “We conveyed a message to all the teams in the tournament that we are the team that fights until the last minute.”
