Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, the acting speaker of the house of representatives, gave instructions today, Wednesday, to meet with the minister of finance the following week in order to expedite the resolution of the file pertaining to the employing of the remaining grades in order to carry out the provisions of the budget law.
The media office of the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives stated in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency, (INA): that “The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives' media office said that "the Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, chaired today an expanded meeting of the Parliamentary Higher Education and Scientific Research Committee, in the presence of its Chairman (Muzahim Al-Khayyat) and its members, and a number of representatives, during which it hosted the head of the Federal Public Service Council, the head of the Financial Supervision Bureau, and a number of concerned parties, the purpose of this was to determine the causes of the delays in finishing the processes pertaining to the employment of individuals covered by the (31000) job degrees authorized by the Tripartite Budget Law and the Emergency Support Law for Food Security No. 2 of 2022."
Al-Mandalawi emphasized, as per the statement, that "the laws currently in effect must not be disturbed, and that the legislative body will oversee the operations of ministries and government agencies and will not permit hindrance of the execution of the laws, including concerning the fulfillment of the procedures for the appointment of the aforementioned degrees, which bestow the privilege of employment for more than a year and a half to first graduates and holders of higher degrees."
To expedite the resolution of the remaining grades' file, he instructed to "host the Minister of Finance Taif Sami next week." He also requested "coordination between all concerned parties, launching the appointment form and allocating funding at close and specific times."
Additionally, he demonstrated that "tens of thousands of top and higher degree holders' rights will not be lost."
