Jose Mourinho has previously explained the emotional connection he has with Newcastle United.

It was confirmed on Tuesday morning that Mourinho had been sacked by Roma, who are currently ninth in Serie A following a run of one win in their last five games, just six months before his contract was due to expire. He is now being tipped for a return to the Premier League.

The Portuguese boss had a special relationship with former Newcastle manager Sir Bobby Robson. In 2020, the former Chelsea boss called himself a 'little Magpie' after working closely with the former England boss as a translator.
