The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, stressed today, Saturday, the necessity of taking action to achieve a permanent ceasefire in Gaza to end the suffering of civilians there.
Borrell said in a press statement followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "no one wins in the regional conflict, and I informed the Zionist entity of this and stressed the necessity of working through diplomacy to end the conflict.".
He added, "We must move to achieve a permanent ceasefire in Gaza," noting that "according to the World Food Program, 100% of the population of the Gaza Strip suffers from a food crisis.".
He continued, "Gaza cannot be isolated from the West Bank, which is part of the territory occupied by the entity since 1967.".
He stated, "We cannot continue to witness the unbearable suffering of children, women and innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip."
