The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the death toll from the Zionist aggression against Gaza has risen to more than 21 thousand since the start of the Zionist aggression on the seventh of last October.

Ministry spokesman Ashraf Al-Qudra said in a statement: “The death toll of the Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip amounted to 21,320 martyrs and 55,603 wounded since the seventh of last October.”

He added, "The Zionist forces committed 20 massacres against entire families, leaving 210 martyrs and 360 injured during the past 24 hours, pointing to the Zionist violations against the health system that led to the martyrdom of 312 health personnel, some of whom were of rare specialized capabilities.".

He explained, "The Zionist occupation deliberately destroyed 104 ambulances and put them out of service, in addition to deliberately targeting 142 health institutions, putting 23 hospitals and 53 health centers out of service, and ending the health presence in northern Gaza."

He stressed that “the Zionist occupation is still detaining 99 health personnel, led by hospital directors in northern Gaza, in harsh conditions of torture, starvation, and exposure to extreme cold,” calling on “the international institutions, led by the International Committee of the Red Cross, to visit them, inspect their conditions, and mobilize internationally for their release.".

Al-Qudra pointed out, “The Zionist occupation targets the vicinity of the Nasser Medical Complex and the Al-Amal Hospital affiliated with the Red Crescent Society in Khan Yunis, several times, and we fear a repeat of the Al-Shifa Medical Complex scenario,” calling on “the international institutions to take effective and urgent steps to ensure the protection of the Nasser Medical Complex and hospitals in south Gaza and the protection of medical personnel, the wounded, the sick, and thousands of displaced people.”

Al-Qudra renewed his call for “urgent intervention from international institutions, in order to restart the Shifa Medical Complex and the hospitals in northern Gaza that can be operated, in the face of the needs of 800,000 people.”.

He stated, “The Ministry of Health in Gaza received several specialized medical teams, in cooperation with international institutions to support medical staff in hospitals,” calling for “the provision of more specialized teams from all countries of the world to save the lives of the wounded.”.

He also stressed that "the Ministry of Health in Gaza appreciates the role of field hospitals in reducing the burden on hospitals, renewing his demand that "international institutions and countries of the world need to provide a number of field hospitals capable of responding to the large numbers of infections and reaching all areas of the Gaza Strip.”

“The humanitarian and health conditions of the displaced have reached catastrophic levels beyond description, and more than 1.9 million displaced people lack water, food, and medicine, noting that “50,000 pregnant women suffer from thirst, malnutrition, and health care in shelter centers.”
