PM: Great importance to the Sinjar due to severe hardships

    PM Office: Delegation from Sinjar District meets Al-Sudani

    INA - BAGHDAD

    Prime Minister Muhammed S. Al-Sudani, received on Monday, a delegation from the people of Sinjar District.

    During the meeting, PM Al-Sudani was briefed on the living and economic conditions in Sinjar district, highlighting the pressing need for reconstruction and the inadequate services it currently lacks, according to a statement by the Prime Minister Media Office, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

    "The ongoing displacement of residents is a direct consequence of the absence of local governance addressing public issues and fulfilling people's needs. Additionally, there was a request for the release of allocated financial compensation," according to the statement.

    Prime Minister Al-Sudani emphasized that the government has attached great importance to the Sinjar district due to the severe hardships the people endured as a result of terrorism. 

    Al-Sudani expressed "the government's responsibility to support and bring justice to the community, underlining the government's commitment to making decisions that align with their significant sacrifices and their determination to stay in their homeland."

    He acknowledged "the delicate phase Iraq and the region are currently navigating, emphasizing the need for increased effort and collaboration to secure and stabilize the entire country. The goal is to facilitate the return of all displaced individuals to their original places of residence, including Sinjar District."
