The Palestinian Ambassador to Iraq, Ahmed Al-Ruwaidi, considered today, Sunday, Iraq’s position expressed in the speech of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani at the Cairo Peace Summit to be very bold and solid and defined the parameters of the stage in light of the continued Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.
Al-Ruwaidi told Iraqi News, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The Palestinian people in Gaza are being subjected to ethnic cleansing through aggression and continuous bombardment by air, sea and land targeting civilians, hospitals, mosques and churches, supported by an occupation plan aimed at displacing the population from the Gaza Strip and settling them in Sinai Peninsula in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and this project was absolutely rejected.”
He added, "Iraq's position, officially and popularly, in response to the Israeli aggression was greatly appreciated, and Iraq's position expressed in the speech of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani at the Cairo summit was very bold and solid."
"This position defined the features of the stage with three basic matters, including the demand to immediately lift the siege on the Palestinian people and stop the heinous Israeli crime against them. In the second order, it stressed the opening of humanitarian corridors to deliver aid to the people of the Gaza Strip. It stressed in the third order the necessity of ending the crime of "occupation" and implementing International law and conventions. Al-Ruwaidi said.
