A Spanish press report said that the Barcelona administration is experiencing a new crisis during the current period, due to the Brazilian winger Rafinha.
Barcelona is suffering from a severe financial crisis, which forced it to sell many players, with only 5 million euros spent on 2023 summer Mercato deals.
However, according to Football Insider, Barcelona is required to pay 21 million pounds sterling to Leeds United before the start of the winter transfer market next January.
The report indicated that this amount is part of the payment plan that was agreed upon between the two clubs, during Rafinha’s transfer to the Blaugrana ranks in the summer of 2022.
The agreement was to include Rafinha for 60 million euros, and given Barcelona’s financial problems, it was negotiated to pay the deal fees in installments. The next installment is due before next January.
Barcelona has no choice but to pay this amount, which may affect the position of the Catalan team in the next winter Mercato.
