Deputy Prime Minister And Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein stressed on Tuesday, the importance of unifying the stances to end the ongoing violations against Palestinians.
The Ministry of foreign affairs-MOFA said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Deputy prime minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein received today, the Secretary General of the league of Arab states Ahmed Aboul Gheit, as they discussed during the meeting, the developments of the situation in the Palestinian Territories.
According to the statement FM stressed "The importance of unifying the Arab and Islamic stances, taking urgent action to stop the escalation and exert all the efforts to stop the ongoing violations of the occupation authorities against the Palestinian people, which was the main reason for the tension of the situation in the Palestinian Territories", calling for "the need for Arab countries to exercise a decisive role in order to implement international resolutions that affirm the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people”.
He reiterated the position of the government of Iraq on the current events in Palestine, noting that" Iraqi diplomatic efforts are being conducted at a high level, with the aim of reaching the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, and to prevent any displacement that may affect the Palestinian people because this will have serious repercussions”.
