ICTS arrests 5 wanted, including two ISIS financiers

    Iraq Counter-Terrorism Service ICTS announced, on Sunday, the arrest of 5 wanted, including two ISIS financiers in various areas.


    The Security Media Cell said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "According to the directive of the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, and the supervision of the head of the ICTS, Lieutenant General Abdul Wahab Al-Saadi, the detachments ICTS carried out a series of operations in different areas of the country".
     
    The statement added that" A special force of ICTS, arrested two terrorists in Kirkuk province responsible for transportation, processing and financing in the gangs of ISIS in the district of Kirkuk ", indicating that"4 dens were destroyed and the materials were seized in Makhmour district".
     
    "As part of the operations of the Iraq Counter-Terrorism Service in combating the scourge of drugs, drug dealers were arrested in Salah al-Din governorate, Tikrit district, and a large pile of ammunitions was found in the north of Tikrit containing explosive materials and mortar bombs " it added.
     
    The statement pointed out that “ICTS detachments, in coordination with the Directorate of Drug Control of Wasit province, enabled to arrest one of the drug dealers in Wasit province south of the country".
     
    The statement stressed, "The arrest of these terrorists will significantly weaken the capabilities of ISIS gangs in processing, financing and transportation and disperse their efforts in Kirkuk province, and the arrest of drug traffickers will effectively contribute to drying up the resources of terrorism to eliminate it completely".
