Minister of Electricity Loay Al-Khatib on Thursday discussed with US Ambassador to Iraq Douglas Silliman ways of cooperation between the two countries. It was agreed to cooperate by attracting American companies to developing the electric power sector in the country, as well as to acquire experiences and work to add renewable and sustainable energies carried out by these companies, a ministry statement said. Al-Khatib discussed with the Egyptian ambassador in Baghdad, Alaa Moussa ways of joint cooperation in the field of electric power. Moussa renewed his government's support for the Iraqi government's ambitious program, as well as the readiness of the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and private sector companies to contribute to development the Iraqi energy sector.
