PM Receives the Indian Ambassador to Iraq

    Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, received the Indian Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Prashant Pise. The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
     
    The Prime Minister highlighted the longstanding and strong historical relations between Iraq and India, emphasizing the numerous commonalities and opportunities for cooperation across various sectors.
     
    Al-Sudani also emphasized that the government is actively progressing with strategic projects, with the Development Road Project being a prominent one. He encouraged Indian companies to consider investing in Iraq, highlighting their expertise in such fields as electronic payment systems and hospital construction and operation.
     
    For his part, Ambassador Pise emphasized Iraq's significance as one of India's major oil suppliers, with imports of Iraqi oil amounting to $34 billion in the past year. He also highlighted Iraq as the seventh trading partner for India. Furthermore, he expressed the interest of Indian companies in engaging in projects within Iraq, with a particular focus on the healthcare sector.
